Cripes!
I'm here!! I'm so sorry, I hadn't checked in for so long, I didn't realise I was being missed and that you'd left messages. Thank you so much for your care. It's all my fault - I should have just declared a break from blogging, instead of disappearing.
I've been busy, yes, focused on other things really. Also, Charles has had hypertrophic (huge, huge, HUGE) tonsils and adenoids since the first week of April. You wouldn't know it to look at him! But at night it's causing obstructive sleep apnoea, which is uncomfortable for him, and frightens me to death. Recently he was only taking four breaths per minute at one point. I've tried eliminating different foods etc. Not working. So we're taking the homeopathic route, whilst waiting for an appointment with the ENT consultant. Really don't want those tonsils removed, if we can find another way.
The other thing is, not much knitting going on. I've been knitting the same pair of socks on and off for two months! So, nothing to report (and that's the main reason for not blogging).
But I hope you are all well, and I trust the knitting frenzy is continued without me!! And thank you again for asking after us.

So good to hear from you!!! I'm so sorry for Charles dealing with something so scary. I hope the doctors can figure it out soon so he won't need surgery. Please keep us posted and we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. ((hug))
ReplyDeleteHeya there - how lovely to see you pop up again on bloglines.... I hope you'll be back more often. Best wishes to you and here's hoping that Charles's tonsils are on the mend.
ReplyDeleteYou take care of Charles and yourself - nothing else matters.
ReplyDeleteYou are in my thoughts XXX
glad to hear you are well, but sorry to hear the little one is not. tonsils are useless and only cause trouble. if they have to go- its ok!
ReplyDeleteit is so scary when kids are clogged and have trouble breathing. when my son is sick i check on him through the night- so nobody really gets any sleep, you must be tired yourself.
take care!
Oh, don't worry about the blogging. Especially about reporting knitting related stuff. Family is of course more important than anything else. But I hope you can get some time over to enjoy some knitting (not the least to ease your nerves ... I would definitely need that in such a situation) and I wish lots and lots and lots of good health for the little one!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. You are absolutly right -family comes first! Hope Charles is soon on his way to recovery.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is meant to be for fun, isn't it? So doit when it happens!
ReplyDelete(At least, that's what i tell myself when I feel bad for leaving it so long).
My tonsils went (adenoids too) aged 9, and my ear infections stopped completely. of course, any surgery is an undertaking, but then so is living with huge tonsils. see what the ENT say - they're not that keen on 'ectomies these days either, so if they really reckon it's the bext option (and the homeopathy hasn't done the trick) it is probably worth considering. You all need your sleep and he needs his breath.
I'm glad you're back. I've missed your posts so much. You know that we love hearing from you with or without knitting content.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Charles get better soon. It must be so scary having to watch him feel so poorly.
Sometimes life really does get in the way of knitting doesn't it? Hope that you find soem good treatment for Chrales soon. Wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, but sorry to hear about the tonsils. I hope the homeopathy does the trick - I've always found it very effective for me, the children, even the dog.
ReplyDeleteMy word what an ordeal! Good to hear you're still around but sorry to hear the news and hope things are on the mend. Family is of course much more important than any knitting , no matter how lovely it is! Take care and post when you can!
ReplyDeleteSo glad all is well with you. Enjoy your break and blog when YOU want to . You are in our thoughts Anne X
ReplyDeleteDone it again Kath has been on my puter and not signed out !! I meant to say I am sorry about Charles being unwell and hope all gets resolved soon
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, sorry C is having such horrid problems with his breathing. Hope you can get some effective treatment very soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending my love to Charles, I hope he'll get well soon. Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon, Charlie!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you! My sympathies to Charles; I still have my tonsils, but my brother's went very, very early. I don't think he misses them!
ReplyDeleteI hope life has presented you with some pleasures as well as problems; if not, you're clearly due some.
You too! Welcome back and hope to see more of your projects.
ReplyDeleteChecking in to say Hi! - hope the tonsils are tatihilarious and that you are at least coping, and at best thriving.
ReplyDeleteRemember tomorrow - there is always tomorrow.
You okay Honey????
ReplyDeleteCherry! How very, very odd! I just checked in here after months of not looking at all, and there was your message - left today. Don't you just love that?
ReplyDeleteI sent you an e-mail after the message you left in June. I assumed you didn't get it (I only had the e-mail address from ages ago, as there isn't one mentioned on your blog).
We're all okay - waiting for an appointment with another ENT consultant, but things are ticking along. Tonsils the same, but the sleep apnoea has gone for now.
Thanks for asking.....I hope you are well too.
xxxxxx
I'm sorry to hear your prince is not at his best these days. Your route is the best, but if his tonsils are sick they will more often make him sick too. I hope it clears up sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. I'm happy you like my dress design. Did you notice there are pockets?!
Hope you and yours are on the road to good health again. I call back here from time to time to see if you are 'in' -after all you kicked me into blog action back in the end of 2006!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are all ticking over! Hope the specialist can help. XX
