Odessa (number 4)
I can almost knit these with my eyes closed (so to speak), I've knit so many. Again, this is in cashsoft, though with large, glossy, black beads this time.
I have one more Odessa to knit, this time in Ballad Blue (one can never have enough Odessa hats). Then, it's on to Shedir.
We’re not going anywhere.

this one really suites you! very 20's, "House of Eliot"
ReplyDeleteOdessa really does suit you (I look all wrong in them!), love the rich pink (shade Madame?) with the black beads.
ReplyDeleteI love that! It really suits you. I've been thinking of doing an oddessa to - just need to decide on the right bead and yarn combo
ReplyDeleteThe hat looks lovely. I really like the Odessa hat and I love the colour you chose. I hope this comment posts none of my others to your blog have been working!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty! I love the black and pink together. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm very tempted to knit an Odessa now. That pink with the black beads is stunning. I just might have enough stash yarn to do one this week..
ReplyDeleteThe hat pattern looks just as good on you as it did on your son....how does that work??? Love the beads too. Still haven't knit with beads yet.
ReplyDeleteI had bought some Rowan Calmer for Shedir, but saw your lovely pink Odessa & opted for it instead. Thank you for that! I have just finished it & guess it will be the first of several -perhaps with beads next time to gliz up the ski slopes! I will have a go at Shedir but found Odessa to be a 'quick win' knit -best option at this time of year!!!! I look forward to seeing your progress with Shedir.
ReplyDeleteHey Sue, do you have a blog? If so, I can't get through to it......
ReplyDeleteHi Alice, my blog doesn't exist...yet. I am hesitating because part of me thinks it should be work related (I teach Geography) & think that a blog could be a great tool to engage my students -well at least my lovely year 11 BUT I love to catch up with the great 'knitting blogs'..... Yours is usually one of the first I check out when I can. Sue
ReplyDeleteOh, that's nice to hear!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you do two blogs?
Oh it's so lovely, you look so chic. I really want one of these now. I wonder if I can fit a quick dash to my LYS tomorrow when I am supposed to be doing other, Christmassy things. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great hat. I want one.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Christmas Alice.
That hat is gorgeous. I want one. Please point me in the direction of the pattern.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing - I've never knitted a hat. I mean, up till this December, when I was commissioned three baby hats for my friend. ^^ But I feel more and more tempted to knit some nice hat for myself, especially when I see Odessa on numerous blogs and this pattern looks intriguing. It suits you very well! ^^
ReplyDeletehello there - I love this hat. off to do a search on that pattern. I have to make one!!!
